HOW LONG ARE YOUR CLASSES?
All classes are an hour.
I’VE TAKEN PILATES BEFORE, SHOULD I START WITH A PRIVATE LESSON?
It’s not necessary but recommended as it provides us an assessment. With an assessment, we are able to recommend the correct class level for you. Privates are scheduled by appointment only. Should you opt for no private, you can get started by booking a class. Otherwise, you can request an appointment now.
DO I NEED TO SIGN UP ONLINE?
Yes, pre-registration is required for all of our classes. In order to save your spot in a class please register online. You can sign up and pay online using a MasterCard or VISA.
I AM NEW TO PILATES, HOW CAN I GET STARTED?
We highly recommend taking at least 3 private sessions prior to jumping into Pilates classes. This allows our instructors to work with you one-on-one, provide you with a thorough assessment and at the same time, familiarize you with the equipment, terminology, and concepts of Pilates.
Request an appointment.
WHERE CAN I PARK?
There is free parking in the lot behind our studio.
WHY DO PILATES VS. TRADITIONAL FITNESS?
Pilates will build you up from the foundation instead of prematurely addressing superficial strength. Pilates instruction is highly adaptable -- therefore able to respect the limitations of your body, while providing powerful exercises to greatly enhance your function and well-being. Pilates benefits are numerous and include:
- Relief of pain due to muscle imbalance.
- Improved posture and bio-mechanical function.
- Increased functional strength and flexibility.
- Enhanced body-mind awareness and performance.
- Greater sense of well-being and energy.
- Faster recovery from pregnancy and childbirth.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE DEEP TISSUE AND SWEDISH MASSAGE?
Deep Tissue massages involve firm pressure and slow strokes to reach deeper layers of muscle and fascia. Deep Tissue massages are highly recommended for people with chronic pain and athletes who suffer from pain due to repetitive motion. A Swedish massage relaxes the entire body using light, long, gliding strokes in the direction of blood flow. Swedish massage improves blood circulation, decreases muscle toxins and eases tension. It’s designed for people with a high level of stress, sleeping disorders and neuromuscular diseases like Parkinson and MS.
CAN I USE PILATES AS PART OF MY ATHLETIC TRAINING?
Yes! Pilates is extremely beneficial for athletes because it allows you to become more flexible, powerful and agile.
