A Swedish massage relaxes the entire body using light, long, gliding strokes in the direction of blood flow. Swedish massage improves blood circulation, decreases muscle toxins and eases tension. It’s designed for people with a high level of stress, sleeping disorders and neuromuscular diseases like Parkinson and MS.
Deep Tissue Massage
A deep tissue massage uses firm pressure and slow strokes to reach deeper layers of muscle and fascia. It relieves muscle adhesion in neck, back pain, leg muscle tightness and sore shoulders. It’s designed for people with chronic pain and muscle imbalance due to repetitive movements.
Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) Stretching
An advanced form of flexibility training that involves both the stretching and contraction of the muscle group being targeted. It is also excellent for targeting specific muscle groups, and as well as increasing flexibility, it also improves muscular strength.
In our deep tissue work, we incorporate Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques by Erik Dalton, Ph.D. and PNF stretchings.
